VIII Collapse Caldera Workshop
in Santorini Caldera, Greece, September 20 to 25, 2020
The next Commission on Collapse Calderas Workshop is in Santorini, September 20 to 25, 2020!! In addition, we are resurrecting the short course for Early Careers Researchers which will be held on the 18th and 19th, just before the main workshop. We are very excited about the workshop and we would like you to mark your calendars and think seriously about participating. The workshop will be intimate (maximum 50 participants) with themes ranging from sub-caldera magmatism to unrest, eruption and future risk. The format will include presentations, break-out discussions, and 3 days of fabulous field trips run by local experts (we envision a ‘white paper’ or journal special issue proposal will come out of this meeting with a focus on multidisciplinary approaches on understanding caldera systems, unrest, and their threat to society). The Local Organising Committee has been very busy with logistics and once they are finalised, a 1st Circular (including workshop & short course costs) will be emailed out to everyone and posted on the Commission webpage which is currently: https://staff.aist.go.jp/geshi-nob/CCC/
